What our customers say

Hear from some of our amazing customers whose daughters have developed their football at We Make Footballers.
"My daughter attended a summer camp initially in which she won player of the week and was thrilled. It is a great set up and an inclusive environment where girls can have fun and learn new skills. My daughter then attended weekly sessions as well as tournaments during the summer. I can’t thank Lauren and the WMF coaches enough for their support, coaching and advice as my daughter got accepted into an academy this season. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend WMF to any parent whose child wants to try football whether just for fun or dreams of being a professional one day."

"Both our daughters (11yrs and 7yrs) hugely enjoy their WMF Girls Training Sessions. Both have thrived in the coaching sessions which compliment their football club training and match play perfectly. Our youngest daughter was a little hesitant to start with but now cannot wait to get to their Wednesday night sessions. The female coaching team have the perfect balance of friendly encouragement and clear direction. It is a top girls squad. Highly recommend. 5 Stars."

My Daughter absolutely loves the WMF Girls training and Camps. The coaching staff are truly a credit. They really make my daughter feel confident to express herself through the use of her football. To say by my daughter has just improved whilst attending WMF Girls would be a real understatement she has excelled (dads opinion) . The sessions the coaching staff put on are always a lot of fun and I find my daughter always wanting to attend the Camps. Honestly couldn't thank everyone at WMF Girls enough for not only teaching my daughter how to become the best football player she can be but also provide key life skills she will hold with her for the rest of her life so thank you.

"My daughter is football crazy! She plays 4/5 times a week. She has played since she was tiny for her mixed school team. Despite all of this football there is no one who can rival the skills my daughter has learned through WMF! They have created an amazing environment with female coaches who are both inspiring and nurturing. They play music which gives the whole place a cool feel. It feels very safe and allows my naturally very shy daughter to express herself."

"My daughter has been attending WMF events for the last year and had loved every single one she has been to. The recent talent I.d was also a great experience for her. Everything is set up with a lot of thought and attention to detail. The drills are always explained well and are enjoyable as well as teaching the kids really well technically. All the coaches are excellent with the kids of all different ability levels. Special mention for coach Lauren and coach Becks who my daughter can’t wait to see every time she attends and make her feel really welcome. Lauren especially has gone above and beyond to help out and am really grateful to her and the other coaches."

Frequently Asked Questions

We have listed out some common questions our customers ask about our girls only football training. If you have any others feel free to drop us a message.

What does my daughter need to bring to training?

Check with the Academy Manager to confirm whether the session is indoors or outdoors. If training is indoors in a sports hall, football boots with studs are not allowed, so suitable indoor football shoes or trainers are required. If you're unsure, bringing both indoor and outdoor footwear ensures your child is prepared for any conditions. Your child should wear comfortable sportswear suitable for football and bring a water bottle, as there are two short drink breaks during the session. We offer a We Make Footballers player kit for purchase, but wearing it is optional.

Who are the sessions suitable for?

Our girls’ training sessions are open to players of all abilities, whether your daughter is new to football, already plays regularly or is looking to progress into academy football. We welcome girls aged 4 - 16 who want to develop their skills, make new friends, and have fun in a supportive environment, helping them to reach their full potential.

Does my daughter need to have played football before?

No, our sessions are designed for all experience levels! Whether your daughter is a beginner or has been playing for years, our coaches will ensure she is supported and challenged at the right level. Our qualified coaches provide plenty of encouragement and praise to create a positive environment where players feel comfortable, build confidence, and enjoy learning new skills at their own pace.

What happens during a typical training session?

Each session follows our winning 10:10:10:30 formula. A 10 minute ball manipulation warm up, two 10 minute football drills, and 30 minutes of small-sided games. Our focus is on building confidence, teamwork, and a love for football while ensuring players develop correct technique from a young age, helping them become the best footballers they can be.

We believe it’s essential for girls to have access to top-quality football coaching in their local area, delivered by qualified coaches. We strive to include female coaches in all of our girls’ sessions, providing players with role models who have played women’s football themselves and can share their knowledge, experience, and passion for the game.

How do I sign my daughter up for a session?

We offer a free taster session so your daughter can come along, get involved, and see if she enjoys it before committing. You can sign up for a free taster session at one of our girls’ classes online via our website or call the mobile number listed for more details. Our team is happy to answer any questions and help you find the best session for your daughter.
In addition to weekly training, we also run girls’ football development camps, tournament days, and talent ID events, providing even more opportunities for players to learn, compete, and showcase their skills. Contact us today to find out more and get involved!

Can my daughter bring a friend to try a session?

Absolutely! We encourage players to bring friends along to our sessions, as having a familiar face can make the experience even more enjoyable and help build confidence. Football is all about teamwork and making new friends, and we love seeing players share their passion for the game with others.
If your daughter would like to bring a friend, just let us know in advance so we can ensure there is space and book them in for a free taster session. Our friendly coaches will make sure they feel welcome and included from the moment they arrive.

My daughter doesn’t know anyone in the class, will she still enjoy it?

Definitely! The majority of girls who attend our sessions start off not knowing anyone in the class, and quickly make new friends. We understand that it can feel a little daunting to join a class where your daughter doesn’t know anyone, but we’re confident she’ll have a great time. Our coaches are experienced at creating a welcoming and supportive environment where every player feels included, no matter their experience level.
Football is a fantastic way to make new friends and build confidence, and we prioritise fostering teamwork throughout each session. Your daughter will be encouraged to work with different players, and before long, she’ll be having fun, learning new skills, and making friends in the process.

Are the coaches qualified and experienced?

Yes, all of our coaches are fully qualified, hold DBS certificates, and have extensive experience in coaching girls’ football. They are passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment where every player feels safe, confident, and encouraged to develop their skills. Our coaches understand the importance of creating an inclusive environment which female players can thrive in.
We believe that high quality coaching is key to a player’s development, and our coaches are dedicated to providing expert guidance, tailored feedback, and plenty of praise to help each player grow. Whether it's teaching fundamental skills or refining more advanced techniques, our coaches ensure that every session is engaging, fun, and focused on empowering girls to reach their full potential.

Is there a pathway for my daughter to join a grassroots team or professional club?

Yes! At We Make Footballers, we have strong connections with football clubs, at both grassroots and academy level. Our mission is to inspire as many children as possible to love football and become the best they can be, on and off the pitch and to build long term careers in football. We believe in providing every player with opportunities to progress in football. Our coaches are experienced in identifying players’ strengths and development areas, and they can provide guidance on the best pathway for your daughter’s development.
Whether your daughter is looking to join a local team, progress to a more competitive academy, or even explore talent identification opportunities, we can provide tailored advice and support. We work closely with various teams and academies to ensure that talented players have the chance to take the next step in their football journey when they’re ready. Our goal is to not only develop individual skills but also help young players build the confidence and experience needed to succeed in team football.
Since 2018, we’ve helped more than 100 girls join competitive teams. Over 40 girls from our programme have progressed to academy and professional football, thanks to our talent identification events and tailored training.

What if my daughter feels nervous about joining?

It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous before trying something new! Our coaches are friendly and welcoming, and we create a supportive atmosphere where every player feels comfortable. We also offer a free taster session so your daughter can see if she enjoys it before committing.
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and are committed to ensuring that all the girls in our classes feel safe, respected, and supported. Our focus is on helping players develop their football skills while having fun, building confidence, and enjoying the experience of being part of a group of female footballers.

Are parents allowed to stay and watch training?

Yes, parents are welcome to stay and watch if they’d like. However, we encourage players to build confidence and independence, so we ask parents to watch from the sidelines and allow the coaches to run the session.

Do you have female players who have progressed to be coaches through your training sessions?

Yes, we’re proud to have trained over 50 female coaches, many now at top clubs and organisations. Many of our coaches started as players in our girls’ training sessions at a young age and have since progressed into strong, confident coaches following our coach training programme.
These coaches have firsthand experience of the development journey and are passionate about giving back to the next generation of players. They bring not only their technical knowledge but also their personal experiences, inspiring young girls to reach their full potential and showing them what’s possible in football. It’s a great example of how our training sessions support long-term growth, both on and off the pitch, and create strong role models for the girls in our programs.
